In 2005, Yinzhou District fully launched the intangible cultural heritage protection project and carried out carpet field investigation of intangible cultural heritage. Founded in 2008, Yinzhou intangible cultural Heritage Museum reopened after upgrading in February 2015, always upholding the concept of "seeing people, seeing things, seeing life", and taking on the functions of intangible cultural heritage display base, research base and education base of the district. Through exhibition, sales, on-site skill display and training experience, it is the only professional museum in Ningbo with the theme of intangible cultural heritage protection and inheritance.
By June 2021, Yinzhou District has 4 national intangible heritage list items, such as Ningbo Zhujin Lacquer wood carving, bone-wood inlaying, Ningbo Walking Book and Ningbo Gold and Silver Color embroidery, 20 provincial list items such as Honggang tailoring, Ningbo furniture making skills, Yinzhou bamboo weaving and dragon boat racing, and 59 municipal list items and 111 district list items. There are 116 representative inheritors of intangible heritage at and above the district level, including 3 national representative inheritors, 17 provincial representative inheritors and 67 municipal representative inheritors. There are 129 non-genetic inheritance bases, including 104 inheritance bases and 25 teaching inheritance bases. There are 24 municipal "trinity" demonstration bodies and 22 special exhibition halls of intangible cultural heritage.
